The Interuniversity Urban Committee (CIU-IUC) is an NPO with an interuniversity and associative approach. Its activities are carried out mainly BY and FOR students and young researchers from the urban environment milieu of Québec's universities: UdeM (RÉBU, RÉMU, ACSA), UQAM (AGEUR, ADECSEUR) McGill (OUPS), Concordia (UPA), INRS (AEUCS) and ULaval (AEESD, RÉATUL).
CIU-IUC's mission is to federate university student associations in the urban environment fields (town/regional planning, urban studies, urban planning, spatial planning, urban design, etc.) in order to meet the following 4 general objectives:
To build interuniversity links between urban student associations to bring together students and young researchers
To strengthen the student interuniversity network by organizing meetings on urban issues and organizing an annual conference
To develop the professional skills of students and young researchers in the urban fields, particularly with regard to scientific popularization, event organization, management of an NPO (funding, internal communication, governance, etc.)
To encourage links between applied research of the next generation and the professional world through its network and activities
